Courses:

ECRT: Everyday Carry Readiness Test

What: A performance-based concealed carry qualification designed to test your real-world skills using your actual EDC setup.
Why: Most gun owners carry daily but never measure their ability to draw, shoot, or reload under pressure. This block gives you hard data on where you stand.
How: You will shoot from concealment with strict time and accuracy standards using your everyday gear. Walk away with a scorecard showing your performance and clear next steps for improvement .

Prerequisites:
This block is designed for concealed carriers who have already developed safe and consistent weapon handling skills. It is not a beginner class.

You must be able to:

  • Safely draw from concealment and deliver accurate hits at 3–7 yards
  • Perform slide lock (emergency) reloads and reloads with retention without instructor assistance
  • Maintain control of your firearm during one-handed and movement-based drills
  • Keep all shots on an 8-inch circle at 7 yards during untimed warmups
  • Use the same holster, belt, and concealment garment you carry with in daily life

If you are unsure about your readiness, we recommend attending a Handgun Fundamentals course prior to registering for this block.

Required Equipment:

  • Handgun
  • 200 rounds of reliable ammunition
  • Concealment holster (no OWB or competition rigs)
  • At least 2 magazines (bring more if you have them)
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Clothing appropriate to your actual EDC setup

Instructor:

Scott Garcia started Advent Training in 2020 as a result of being frustrated with other training courses. His classes are not cookie-cutter and he tailors his classes to you. See the " About Us " section on Adventtraining.org for a more in-depth bio of Scott.

Basics of Room Clearing and Unconventional Shooting Positions

This two part block focuses on getting comfortable shooting from uncomfortable positions as well as room clearing. It's no secret fights happen at awkward angles and inside houses. This block will lay a fundamental foundation to make these situations/positions easier. The time to learn and practice this is not in the middle of a life or death situation.

Gear list:

  • Quality Handgun
  • 150 rounds of training ammo
  • 3 Magazines (Minimum)
  • Strongside Belt Holster (Appendix works too)
  • Sturdy Gun Belt

  • Ear Protection
  • Spare Magazine Pouch

  • Semi Auto Pistol
  • 3 Magazines (5 if single stack) and 1-2 magazine pouches
  • Outside/Inside the waistband holster that holds it's shape (Kydex is strongly recommended)
